Once they're a handful of rungs up they're faced with a dilema; either conform to the group ideology or have the ladder kicked out from under them. Women don't value hard work, they don't value effort, they don't value perseverance. The only thing that matters is results. If they see a potential setback due to someone else breaking the mold it HORRIFIES them.
You can apply these concepts to most womanisms and suddenly the womanisms make a lot more sense.
