Time and chaos are both manmade constructs that will disappear with the last human. Space will eventually succumb to entropy along with all the sharks and detectives and phoenixes, robots, elves, dragons, and cosplaying pirates, and even the eldritch horrors that lurk beyond the stars. Everything will stop, heat death will claim the universe, and at the end of it all death will turn off the last light and close the door before closing her own eyes for the final time. Death always wins in the end. Eventually it's not even a contest; it's a release.
