You want to create an identity for yourself. So you formulate one around petty fandoms, such as vtuber fandoms. Other people do the same thing around sports teams, videogame tribalism, coca cola brands....etc. You want to paint tribal stripes on your body to identify as part of something, but nothing is being offered to you by the nation at large, so you squirrel yourself away into some pathetic fandom. Then you have little tribal squabbles with the other fandoms. That's what people love doing eh? Just following your programming
