I don't actually see many faiths limit how much you're allowed to prevent death outside of edge cases like the Mormon blood donation ban so overall I think I'm not weird in assuming that in the rare case where pretty much all the main voices agree it's safe to assume the odds are relatively good on it being a-okay.
