>>36239264>>36239398The current rep system is extremely easy to take advantage of if someone were to be dishonest while not being a schizo, as it stands, not only is it extremely easy to just say that I'm another person from another thread in doing so I'd immediately be considered someone whose voice has more potential wait than someone whose been a part of the thread for several months but isn't a rep. I think it was fine when there were fewer posters however the more posters and schizos we get, the more we have to consider that it is a major possibility that at some point, someone will try to do this nora.
I'd avoid the pp joke topic since it isnt particularily relevant outside of emphasizing how much we rely on trusting others with the rep system. There's a very big push towards making individuals stand out with the rep system and that isn't bad in and of itself, in a place where there's no concrete way to verify someone without violating their personal privacy, I think even the anons who might find the system to work fine have to admit that there's still a really large chance that someone will eventually come along that would hide their identity not even for any ill will but for convenience. Consider the zomb proposal that I made and how the only real motion I made to say that it was me making a proposal was that I specifically pointed it out and maintained the nanolish gimmick, if I were to just say that I was the zomb rep, how would anyone be able to tell otherwise? Maybe if someone analyzed my writing style they'd find recurring consistencies but even then several posters take inspiration from each other when writing and have similar writing and posting styles, me and artic naito were confused with each other often until he took the name articnaito. I know the hooman mentioned that he thought he'd be able to tell if someone that wasn't a hooman wrote lore for /who/ but a bunch of people called the newest sapling writer a falseflagger because their view of their fanbase was closer to the stereotypical version of it.
One of my complaints towards the province system was that it encouraged falseflagging and the rebuttal to that was that falseflaggers weren't any more encouraged than they already were and I actually have to agree with that because there's alot of encouragement to just falseflag instead of going through all the tedium of these rules and the possible backlash that might come if you wanted to write for a thread you're familiar with.
I think all posters can recognize how this can be a problem and its been something that other anons have brought up before but I'd genuinely be surprised if someone could deny this while still making a non-emotional and logically rational argument that everyone could follow...nanora.
Granted these are all just my base observations on it, I've had a general issue with the idea of a rep for a while but I think these are the general summarization of them.
