>>86590093Fuck, I forgot to remove the image when typing out the rest of the tourist thing for the Ruffians.
>>86589719>Places pt 2: Changi Airport: Make sure you have time to explore our airport. Holy shit it's a crazy airport. It has 4 terminals with malls and shops in each, a giant indoor slide, regular activities and shows, a gigantic water feature, a movie theatre, restaurants, playgrounds, rooftop gardens, etc. I think Kiara, Bae, and Ina talked a bit about it.
>Food:There's a lot of good food, but I think plenty of it might not be suited for the American palate. Lots of noodle dishes, stir-fried slop on a plate, spicy and sour flavours that taste distinctly south-east asian, etc. So here are the things I recommend that might be generally palatable:
Chicken Rice: It's savoury rice with poached and tender chicken. Very common and classic.
Hokkien Mee: Seafood noodle dish, usually several varieties fried with egg and with a slightly sour chilli on the side.
Roti Prata: Indian food. Kinda like a focacia that you dip in curry and/or sugar, sometimes comes with meat like chicken or mutton.
Bak Kut Teh: Herbal Pork Bone Broth. There are pepper ones, herbal ones, and a dry variety that's stir-fried in a thick dark onions sauce.
Satay and BBQ Chicken: If you go to a hawker centre with a grill, there'll usually be places selling satay and chicken. It's pretty fucking good.
Durian: Durian gets a bad rap for stinking like shit because vtubers fucking import frozen crap from overseas and thaw it out, so by the time they receive it, it melts into slop custard. Then they eat it and scream. There is a genuine, authentic way to enjoy it, and there are enough flavours and varieties that you can tell them apart like a wine taster. Unfotunately, without a direct guide helping you out, you'll struggle to find a starter durian from a fruit seller. Maybe try telling the guy manning a store to get something that's lighter-tasting and sweeter, and crack open a beer while you try it.
Lastly, Hawker Centres have good food, but the hygiene is kinda abysmal. You won't get food poisoning, but the conditions are nasty to behold. It's a remnant from an older, uncivilised time, so bring wipes, wipe down your tables and cutlery, and just try to walk away from the messes and spills. Don't put your cutlery on the bare trays or eat off them like Drew Barrymore did.
That's all I got in me. If you Ruffians are coming here for the AFA Hololive Meet, hopefully this helps! Also hoping that they do an actual M&G session before the panel, there was one last year.
