>>48985082I get the feeling, bud. Someone already pointed it out but there are many livers who aren't into anime, but for the sake of the discussion:
I think it's also because anime as a hobby is kind of in a weird spot. I think the only option is to find an audience that loves the stuff you love as a liver. When you do your debut, give them hints as to the kind of anime you like watching, and it's likely that if you're an older fan or a young fan that appreciates older work, a lot of the newer stuff by comparison feels like a nosedive. The livers are already busy as it is so most of their anime knowledge is drawn from older works they experienced growing up or before becoming livers, and there's less new work to choose from, and not everyone follows along the mainstream FOTMs. This is applicable to memes and stuff too, but those are easier to get into with their set up: they have the discord to share things and hang out in, they're able to keep up to date on what's going on with each other and the their respective fanbases as a result. Tangent aside, this does mean we only really get a few very dedicated livers when it comes to anime, if any. I'm glad Elira likes older stuff generally for example, and Rosemi's enjoyed a lot of what I've enjoyed in the past. When I get in, I want to be an old codger when it comes to anime, and talk about and do watchalongs of /m/ stuff and series like LotGH, GTO, and many others. I will be woefully behind on new stuff though, I haven't watched any of the FOTM stuff this year except Gundam Mercury.
