I doubt they were trying to convince Aqua not to get married or to keep it a secret. They probably just pointed out again and again that other holos were in similar situations and continued working there without any issues. Suisei even said that she tried to be a middleman between Aqua and management for a while to work something out, but she eventually gave up and accepted Aqua's decision after having a personal conversation with her
Anyway, I respect Aqua a lot for taking this step
