Fellas I love motherv3's crying expression on her new model, I don't just mean it's cute but there's something interesting/artistic about it been making me think.
A while back Silvervale cried for real on stream and some posts said how weird it was that her avatar was happy despite the person behind it crying. Would they think it an improvement if the model was also crying?
On one hand it would be more consistent with the real person, but doesn't it also feel inauthentic/manipulative that she would literally be pressing a button to activate the waterworks?
But then I think you could say that of any emotional expression of the avatar, why is crying qualitatively different from any other?
So yeah I think there's an inherent fakeness with vtubing that isn't a bad thing, the fact it blurs the lines between real/fake is the appeal, and this is going to be increasingly embraced, like wrestling or 'reality' tv. I also like that the model is sci-fi, I know this a common trope/cliche, that we will lose grasp of what's authentic and willingly give in to the fantasies anyway, but i still appreciate it, cheers
