It's something that would otherwise not be possible because there's so much data lost in really small resolutions and that kind of thing is practically miracle work. I remember first seeing it when people used it to upscale the backgrounds for FFVII on PC years ago. Connor used that version on his playthrough. There's tons of other mods too, but you know, if you want one that keeps the basic feel of the game without changing a lot, that is great, and it's all thanks to a learning AI network like Gigapixel.
