I think it's really hard to have a 'brotuber' as people envision it in NijiEN because there's still a lot of fanbase overlap, and the males' audiences are primarily thirsty women. You have to adjust to the audience you've been given or risk not finding an audience at all. What Sonny's been doing is close enough to what I wanted in the first place, and I can just skip streams I'm not interested in or skip superchat readings. I hope it doesn't change to more pandering and it really worries me how parasocial some of his audience's already gotten, but I've been happy with his schedules and his approach to superchats so far. I can't expect someone to be exactly what I want, after all. I'm not someone who thinks I own a vtuber because I throw money at them.
