Kiara literally gulps down medicine in order to counteract the pain until it builds up so much that not even the meds help anymore and she needs to be forced to take a break to calm herself down. HoloJP are the same way as you can see that Subaru has been forced to take 2 weeks off due to her throat which she tried to work through and only caused shit to end up even worse.
