Thank you Rosemi-sama for the amazing bookclub stream today! I was too busy yesterday to catch the first stream and was also busy during the second stream, and this was the highlight for me! I managed to speedread Murder on the Nile today for the club, sweep out spider nests then apply insect repellent all over my mom's property, and had finished The Mysterious Affair at Styles over about 3 nights relaxed reading before bed in September. I really wanted to go through Dune Messiah but didn't have time...
Was, in all honesty, pleasantly surprised that you didn't get to finish it either so I'm going through it to have meat to discuss at the next bookclub, besides whatever you decide is for the next one! I'm not going to talk about what was talked about during the stream, because it's a membud and people should get membership if they want to see it, but it was really fun =w=~ I'll order Darkfever books 1-4 soon and start reading through those to see what really piqued your interest growing up, hehe! For me personally, Arthurian legend is cool and there's some cool stuff in Irish mythos, though I'll be honest, without the twist from modern writers, the actual legends are pretty weak when squaring up against mythology and history from others Cu Chulainn's claim to fame is 300 1v1 duels over a cow in a cattle raid, whereas IRL China had battles where they sent 50,000 men as a diversion, or spiritual mythology in stuff like Taoism or romanticism like in Journey to the West/Romance of 3 Kingdoms so it feels less crazy without the Wyrd stuff from Arthurian myth and more of the Fae-related stuff that's been expounded on by D&D and fiction/fantasy writers in general, for example. The Christie books have been a blast to read, and I really can't wait for the next club!
You've been working super hard and I know there's going to a a period where you have to go off for NijiFes and other things, so try to get some proper rest when you can, your wrist and your throat need it, you deserve a vacay! I'm proud of you for all the health stuff you've been keeping up with. It's really hard to stay on top of it all but you're doing fantastic. I'm really thankful to have you as my kami-oshi, and am working on being able to support you better since your efforts make me work harder and also appreciate the good things in life a lot more, from hobbies, to the stuff that's making me do right by my family and to the little things I do for myself now whereas before I'd avoid enjoying things because I never felt like I deserved it... You make me happy and I wanna do what I can in return! I love you so much! Keep being awesome! And I hope you never have to read them in French! Sorry if rambly, on low sleep! Sorry for lateness of post too, had to go help my sister with something for a bit! Love you, love you, love you!!!
