Fun Crocodile Fact #16: Crocodiles are usually recognized as the giant reptilian predators that they are. The Saltwater Crocodile for example is the largest croc species, measuring at an average of 5.2 meters (17ft) long. However, there are smaller species of crocodile that are still roaming around today. The smallest of the group, known as the African Dwarf Crocodile, measures at an average of 1.8 meters (5'9 ft) lengthways. That still overtakes the average male human height of 1.7 meters (5'7 ft), but still, they are notably tinier than the average croc species.
