Calli had intended to use it much later in the series when the hunter cell was better established, but the time / scheduling constraints forced her to shorten the overall campaign more than she intended. She was eager to use it, but wound up springing it too early. The doppelganger twist was good, but it was delivered a little clumsily. I was there for that stream, and the carnival notion was mostly her creation. The tier3 bois mostly came up with ideas for the rides and challenges, like the dolls.
I'm the guy who made and maintained the Huntermyth threads during their heyday, so I know everything there is to know about the project, and I can say with confidence what has hamstrung the project more than anything is player logistics, specifically Kiara. Had she not been deported back to the Euroslurps, only two regions would need be considered instead of three damned different timezones. The best TTRPG sessions generally run 5-10 hours. The hobby shines best when done in longform, which is why the best sessions so far have been the longest.
I could go on about Huntermyth until the next stream. I love and believe in the project to a religious extent. I'm sad to see it's winding down, but considering how experimental the project was, it has been an excellent and enjoyable experience so far. Blogpost over.
