On the other hand, their image perpetuated now outdated knowledge about dinosaurs that people cling on because of childhood nostalgia.
Seems like a weird thing to say, but apparently there has been a huge backlash against the discovery that dinosaurs had feathers for example simply because people wanted to preserve their images of dinosaurs as those fearsome monsters and not just prehistoric animals.
