>>98232169Oh it's coming, in fact Ubisoft got the raw end of the deal. Normally they would force the Chinese to buy them out, everyone gets a massive payday and it becomes their problem to keep the company alive. However that's not what happened, instead they basically sold their IPs and talents without selling their company, Tencent now have no reason to save Ubisoft. Actually the faster they sink the better for Tencent.
I'm sure you're thinking
>don't they have laws about firing people and laws that keep Ubisoft alive? Yes, but Ubisoft created a subsidiary of their company so the law doesn't apply in this situation. In a few months I think we'll be seeing even small subsidiaries splitting off from this one and eventually just turning into their own thing leaving Ubisoft entirely. Once that happens Tencent can just back out and leave. Ubisoft cant survive on its own.
Now Tencent only have about 25% stock in the company, but if Ubisoft keep on their trajectory more and more can be scooped up as they put pressure on the company to do well. Given their plans to dump even more money into Skull and Bones and even more micro-transactions for AC Shadows, I cant imagine they'll be able to actually change course and save this company. If they fail to deliver, if they fail to buy back Tencent's stock, they'll undoubtedly be swallowed whole.
