In the west, it's just Hololive and Vshojo. There's also NijiEN but nobody knows it exists. That means there's like... less than 30 vtubers to choose from for your average surface level vtuber fan in the west. They aren't making guest appearances on TV like Japanese vtubers are, they aren't doing big 3D events, they just play Minecraft and Apex, over and over again.
This is why you don't see this drop in popularity with manga for example. Plenty of translated material for every niche. Vtubing is still a baby in the west. There's not even any corporate males yet and that's gonna make a big splash.
I know it hurts the hearts of Holofags and Vshojotrannies to hear, but for the good of the western vtuber industry, there needs to be more examples of success aside from them, and more variety.
