Tatami Time Machine Blues is not a sequel or second season, its a largely independent story based on a work by one of author Morimi's frequent collaborators called Summer Time Machine Blues, which is also its own live-action movie. I still like Tatami Time Machine Blues but don't expect it to continue the narrative of Galaxy. Also if you haven't seen it, the movie Night is Short, Walk on Girl is more closely a spiritual successor to Galaxy and is really really amazing, highly recommend
