I disagree on Light, he's an example of good intentions, TERRIBLE methodology, Lorne Malvo from Fargo, etc. Some of the best villains on the other hands are the ones that make you question your beliefs or sympathize/empathize with what they went through to become that way. Nox from Wakfu is one of my favorites. There's room for both and kinds in between.
