All of the people competing have diaries that allow them to see the future, but they don't know who each other are. I think there are different rules and limitations for what about the future can be seen and how it can be used. It's been a while since I watched it. There are some kind of interesting twists and turns and characters in the first half or so, but it completely disappears up its own ass by the end. MC is a whiny little cuckboy who lets the female lead do everything for him.
The relevant things you need to understand about the series is that it features Gasai Yuno, picrel, who has become the prototypical yandere. She obviously wasn't the first, but if you know anything about yanderes or are interested in them at all you are probably at least tertiarily familiar with Gasai Yuno or a yandere heavily cribbed from her.
