>>48195620We had a significantly stronger response than initially planned, yes. Part of that was people being very willing to shill the event to other threads
sometimes to the point where I was worried jannies were going to come smack us.
I personally have been watching the discussion around the board
I'm on most of the board anyway, but I only really shilled the event myself in 2-3 threads, and my entire presence in other threads has just been answering the odd question here and there.
This was part of the reason I've been saying that the time between submissions closing and the time of the actual event would be "at least 2 weeks" instead of just saying "2 weeks". My original plan for this event was that we'd get about 8-10 entrants, mostly /hfz/ regulars bringing in other threads they're on, and everyone just having a fun time watching the kino happen. Maybe we'd pop off and get an insane number of applicants starting in the second one (assuming we decided to run a second one), but I figured the first Lord of the Board was going to be pretty small.
That is clearly not what happened. And there's still 2 hours. More threads could reasonably submit entrants. I know there's at least a couple of them working right now on the form, and I sincerely hope they make it. We could very reasonably hit 50.
Anyway, there's still two hours left, but I want to go ahead and thank everyone that's submitted, helped with thread submissions, filled out poals, shilled the event, and everyone that volunteered to help make CAWs. This may not be the best mudshow on the board, but let's make it the best damn show we can.
