In any event I'm pretty sure you're supposed to actually update your D&D alignment if your character's mindset changes accordingly, "I was good, just millennia ago" isn't a free pass and all
I do recall hearing at some point that FSN alignments make more sense if you assume Nasu makes it self-actualized/dependent on what the character thinks of themselves, but don't know if he's ever mentioned it in fluff somewhere or if it's just some /a/ or /tmg/ shit that keeps getting repeated
