If they have another gen they should avoid casting artists or busy professionals who will half ass shit, don't hire people just because they have the big numbers somewhere or special skills.

And don't make an over hyped months long attempt at going viral and don't make up some over complicated LORE bullshit. Give them simple concepts and a simple premise.
For designs just stick to normal fashion styles and gimmicks related to professions and popular archetypes in games and anime. Make sure they all stand out within the gen.
Make a balanced spread of animal girls and other fantasy types of non-humans.
Also limit yourselves to one girl with huge tits, more than that and it dilutes the impact of it.
Also this is important, you must include at least 1 loli. You can include 2, but at least 1 is mandatory. Keep the rest medium or medium-big. Also try to hire multiple hags, you don't need a whole hag gen but at least a few will keep everyone else going. Smelly n-life neets are fine too. You can hire lesbians who like cute girls but be very careful not to hire any that are political, just filter their entire internet history to find out who to weed out.
Also make sure the roommates look good in real life because people will find out who they are and it will impact their public perception.
Making a good gen is easy, it just boils to knowing who you want to hire and making good models and a good basic premise for the gen.
JP gens get it right, Myth got it right but somehow Council was a fuck up.
