The reason for using Canny here is that Canny outlines the handholding portion of the picture and forces the AI to prompt with respect to those outlines.
This is effective in getting the pose and the hands down.... The problem? anything that is outside of those lines will have trouble getting prompted unless you blast the AI with high weight values on those tags. See Okayu's lack of tail here. This almost always requires you to inpaint it.
Well the best way to learn is to try it yourself.
