>>83139237as a yugioh player im mostly in agreement with this, yugioh's core problems come from it's speed and the best formats were when decks struggled to OTK and weren't able set up unbeatable endboards, think Edison format which has a very fun back and fourth, so this more limited speed from mana would be a good fix that will last long term.
however i think there should be a backrow for traps and spells that have long term effects, this is so the opposing player can clear them on their turn and to help keep track of potential continuous effects from ether equip cards or long term spells and traps (think swords of revealing light or mirror force being able to be targeted by something like MST) leaving clear counter play for them, maybe even a 2 mana 1/1 which destroys a backrow on summon
