At least for the first wave EN males should go for manly looking designs (like pic related, yes even a quirky-ass toon like Chaika) over pretty boys to kill the "male vtubers need to pander to women in order to survive" meme. The problem with fujo designs is that even if the guy behind the avatar is genuinely cool most western viewers feel like gay watching them. A design like Wolfgang's is surely enough to capture both audiences.
