Concernfag+nutritionschizo here (please don't delete, it's related to Mococo's migraine and I'm genuinely trying to help):
- Sympathetic dominance (being in stressed state) literally depletes certain calming nutrients like magnesium zinc and calcium. Playing horror games for hours is going to make that worse. Try to allocate moments to relax and rest, it can be difficult though.
- You need correct copper/zinc ratio, don't take a lot of just one. Copper is said to be stimulating but also required for healthy nerves
- Too much estrogen is associated with migraines. Soi might increase estrogen (debated). Soi is also high in omega-6, also associated with migraines.
- Too high or low blood pressure can cause headaches. Official recommendations are on the low side to sell you blood pressure meds. Get a meter and learn what BP range works best for you. To reduce BP, eat magnesium and potassium, omega 3s (thins blood). Nattokinase (in natto) (thins blood) also reduces blood pressure. To increase blood pressure, eat more sodium, drink sufficient amount and avoid diuretics. Too much water will actually dehydrate you by washing away the electrolytes.
- Caffeine: contributes to headache issues, but helps acutely.
- Oxalates and heavy metal toxicity: contributing to lots of issues, but stopping exposure mobilizes toxins, causing detox symptoms including headaches, brain fog etc. eating oxalate temporarily prevents your body form detoxing which might relieve symptoms. Foods with sulfur also triggers detox (including natto).
- Carbs and diabetes: Modern diet has too much carbs. Diabetes is associated with headaches and nerve issues. Going too low carb too fast can cause too low blood sugar and headache though, so balance is key (sorry carnivoreschizo).
- EMF radiation activates calcium channels, stimulating nerves. Counter with magnesium or use literal tinfoil hat, avoid unnecessary exposure, or reduce calcium consumption. According to different source though, calcium shields nerves from overstimulation by other nutrients. With magnesium being deficient in food supply, supplementing some magnesium is the easiest general recommendations to make (not oxide or sulfate).
- grass-fed fatty meat is very healthy and good basis of nutrition.
Source: various sources, I don't know what of these are true or false, there's no reliable information. Stressing about nutrition is whole another rabbit hole, listen to your body and do things that work for you.
