In fact it's sometimes made a stereotype, like how white people refuse to go to the doctor even when they need to. Or refuse to heat their homes in the winter. Or refuse to spend money on basic necessities and "tough it out". They tend to insist their children work even from a very young age.
So when Enna insists this is an "asian stereotype" she's just wrong. Literally nobody has these stereotypes about asians. It feels like she is someone who lacks an identity and is applying someone else's identity to herself.
