Maybe there are behind the scenes reasons, like him being insanely fast and meeting deadlines no one else could, but yeah, can't do anything if people want to commission him. I do fear for possible MVs using his work.
If they MUST go the "commission a fan to do a 3D MV for us" route, then I hope they at least pick the guy who did picrel, his animation and shading work is a lot closer to Cover's official work than Kanauru's.
Plus they get to support an upcoming fan who could use the help instead of an established figure who gets commissions left and right.
