But its a transaction where we watch them and give them money and they provide us with temporary companionship.
Its no different than as previously said, a geisha or a hostess. We're not there to marry the entertainer, just to have some comfort and entertainment for awhile because our lives suck. Yes hopefully one day we get a real relationship unrelated to the vtuber, but until that happens its nice to have someone there who can at least pretend to listen to your troubles or who can provide some human companionship. Its not a replacement for a relationship, but it scratches the itch.
