The platform had less to do with the name than the actual occupation. Additionally the virtual part had more emphasis when the content was more controlled and rehearsed. Less personal perhaps, but that's in the name as well.
I am not saying one format is better than the other. I am saying if someone wants to be a purist about what vtubing is supposed to be, they've joined in on this discussion far, far too late.
