I think the main problem some fans have with Rissa is that she feels a bit inauthentic. At her core she's an insecure dorky girl with a goofy charm trying to give life to her cool femme fatale avatar. The issue is not trusting her fans enough to feel safe in sharing certain things, so she comes across as somewhat shady. Always dodging questions or concerns people might have. It all stems from her general insecurity and low self esteem, she tries to mask it by acting brave but it isn't convincing. So she doesn't trust her fanbase to open herself up to them, instead opting to tell half-truths and altered stories. Despite Rissa being a theatre kid she lacks the acting chops to sound convincing when speaking to the Jailbirds, causing people to doubt her sincerity. She has a wonderful voice and can sing great, yet she can't open up enough to truly let her feelings out when singing. That's why her karaoke feels a bit stilted, she holds back by not putting enough emotion into it. When she does pour emotion into her singing she has no equal, absolute top tier. Basically her core personality is holding back her true potential and that's a pity. If only she could dig deep and pour her heart and soul into her singing and just let out all her emotions, she'd be so good. I love this cute dork but I want her to act more sincere and be genuine with us.
