Cursing you to dream of a beautiful life with ceci, you have kids, and a cozy cabin by the sea. Everything seems perfect, but then the signs start showing, early onset dementia. She starts forgetting things, more so than usual. There are times when it's endearing, like when she calls you by a nickname you used in your youth; or maybe when she talks about your early dates, without realizing you were the one she was with, soon enough she remembers and blushes profusely and you feel her love for you rush back up like a fountain.
You want to convince yourself it's fine but deep down you hate it, you hate watching the woman you love lose a bit of herself everyday. The symptoms worsen and the stress piles up. Even if she doesn't remember you all the time, your love holds strong and you know, even if she acts slightly differently, you love her all the same.
In her few moments of clarity you see it, the fear and uncertainty in her eyes, she doesn't want to become a stranger to herself. She doesn't want to forget you, and your kids, and the time you spent together. She's inconsolable. You hold her weeping form in your arms, and she begs you. She doesn't want to lose any more. You're not sure how much more you can endure, you're not sure how much more your willing to let her endure. You cry it out together, she stops, and now, there's a stranger in your arms
