Back to the idea of Shu fucking monsters though, I like to think during Luxiem's anniversary they talked about what they did in the past before they got time travelled to the future. Shu can just say he had to learn sorcery to fight monsters, and the ones on his outfit are ones he has a story about but doesn't want to share every detail about it with the boys. Perhaps he could be even hiding something about himself like with Vox. I like the overlap their second outfits have and I think it would be a cool concept if he were half monster himself too but uses his sorcery to keep the monster part of him at bay. That could be another idea altogether: conflict within himself.
