The first movie is very different from the other movies since it's more of a traditional thriller spy flick and the second is generally everybody's least favourite since it's an (admittedly pretty alright) John Woo action movie.
3 is great for the drama with the rabbit's foot but 4 onwards are were Mission REALLY starts to shine.
In fact, MI4 is one of my favourite movies of all time. I highly HIGHLY recommend watching it sometime. It's REALLY good!

There is one thing you'll miss if you decide to skip 3 which will leave you a bit confused.
Basically Ethan was in a relationship in 3. That's all you really need to know. But really Pomie PLEASE watch Mission Impossible 4 I'm begging you here!
