Hello, yes, liaschizo here. I think one of Lia’s outstanding charm points is her “outsider art” approach to her craft that is given a certain authenticity that the other Phase girls simply lack. That’s not to say that there is a certain undeniable overlap in performer and character with the other talents but the way that Lia goes about in presenting herself just has an undeniably genuine feeling to it that, perhaps merely by Forbidden Knowledge, the others lack. I’ve touched on this in the past in what a genuine “hag” feels like, that is a performer who is trotting out well worn tricks to demonstrate their desirability versus the well established “age” factor most assign “hag” to, and with Lia everything feels fresh. The sincere struggle of her ambition is wherein the tangible wager of the performance becomes evident. Time and again Lia’s X Factor comes up that certain intangible which propels her raw craft beyond the competence of her presentation. In this way I feel Lia really proves the merit of her art, not simply in execution, but in the feeling of potentiality that she displays when laying it out for the Liacon to engage with. The youthfulness of her indiscretions are wherein the value is extract, the feigned luxury of some of the complimentary talents missing out most in this regard, when Lia “plays” with the momentum of her career and the refinement of her talents we’re shown a permissiveness that is simply unavailable to the more “seasoned” talents Phase has to offer. This “I’m baby” assertation of Lia’s is roughly mirrored in the kayfabe of Wemi but give a real, undeniable character with Lia. It’s the small moments of doubt, the undulation of commitment that provides that vital feeling and ephemeral nature to Lia’s presence. I hope she continues to push and find ways to keep this kind of nuanced engagement alive through her performances crafting a less viable but all the more engaging emotional aspect to the care of her career.
