Some vtubers don't actually get popular through their own means but are instead artificially inserted into some kind of alogorithim that makes them get picked up on far more accounts and feeds than one naturally would from trending, where they're basically boosted until they inevitiably become popular through sheer repeated basically forced advertising, despite not really being notable prior to it, and this is done for some illuminati type bullshit that I can't comprehend.
Some people will say that I'm just describing botting or getting lucky with the algorithim, but I'm talking beyond that, kind of like how music licenses will sign on soundcloud artists but won't make it publicly known initially. The artist drops a song which becomes a "hit" out of nowhere (even when the song is usually fucking garbage), and then they're "quickly signed on" out of nowhere and described as being the "hit new thing", and then the artist will usually go on to promote some kind of thing before disappearing and fading into non-existence. There are lots of talented vtubers that go unnoticed for years and stil to this dar fly under the radar, but people like Ironmouse or that one vtuber who's whole gimmick is being styled like a cuphead character become popular just....Because they do. Because some machine behind the curtain operated by some higher up for some unknown reason is just deciding that they want them to be, even despite the fact they have literally nothing interesting about them. These vtubers, who's whole identity is basically just "that they're popular"? It's entirely artificial, and it's going to be used in a very nasty way some day.
