I don't know what it is about horror that seems to have the most thought put into such tiny details but I've been watching more and more of this genre and looking for hidden meanings, small parts where the director does something I haven't seen before with light and sound, etc in more horror movies. Like I never knew there was thought put into say, the use of a dark area to make it feel more horrifying until I watched Don't Breathe and the proper use of suspense to make the audience anticipate something that may or may not happen. Typical jumpscares in popular movies are so overdone but sometimes the right jumpscare can really get you. I like seeing what things directors and other creatives can come up with! Plus there's the addition of fantasy without the need of too much worldbuilding like a film that would primarily focus on fantasy. The art of film is so cool! I want to watch more movies with Milord.
