In terms of screen transitions, jumping up, seeing the next jump and doing a full jump works all the time or restricts to a type of jump(s) in the base game besides one jump before the checkpoint.
Again, it's a matter of taste, I had no patience for GOI and couldn't beat it but JK was fun.
