Why would she dig straight down for wood, if she was already in a Forest with a shit ton of wood, she wouldn't of known about the mineshaft, and even pass that she only toke 25 wood.
If you watch, no where else was wood taken from the mineshaft, just that one spot, and she even left 4 blocks behide.
perhaps the person who toke the wood, just needed a crafting bench or sticks for a torch.
