>>29312913As a BL fan it really is annoying when some BL start off interesting and SURPRISE RAPE HAPPENS because it's clear the author didn't know how to let a romance develop naturally. This happened so frequently in the early 2000s and most of them were super cringe. I'm not gonna go fucking SJW and say it's bad because it's problematic, I just think it's annoying and ruins what could've been a compelling story. It's completely different if a work is intended to be dark and fucked up, or it's PWP where rape is the fetish, because at least you know what you're getting into. But if I want a sappy slow burn romance I want the romance to actually be well written and believable, not some self insert 50 shades bullshit.
