>>57158341Okay, I've got a proof of concept for the alt!Suisei fic. I liked the concept enough that I decided to do a vn thing. Tbh most of my time today was just setting stuff up and remembering how to use Renpy... and fucking around with midjourney, now that I think about it, because it's kind of a pain in the ass... but at any rate, here it is. I actually wanted to get a little further into it, but I decided this was a good enough spot to see if people liked the direction.
So, here it is, a demoish thing for my tack on the alt!Suisei fic: Stilted Stellar.

1. Suisei is one of my favorites but I can't pretend I watch her streams. I have no japanese skill. Anything I watch from her is gonna be clips. You guys will have to help me out with characterization.
2. The file is a bit bigger than it 'should be' because I kept a bunch of music in the game folder that is generally useful for different situations. I decided as far as music for the vn, while there should obviously be a focus on Suisei songs and then Holomem songs, these songs are not as easy to find remixes or covers of that can make them fit every situation/provide necessary music variety. It's not set in stone, but even just for now having tracks from other stuff as placeholder tracks makes the most sense.
3. The basis for all the gui and options files and yadda yadda are other projects I've done before, fwiw. Anything irrelevant should be cleared out, but let me know if you find anything that is really weird or doesn't belong or is... doxxy I guess. There shouldn't be anything but whatever.
4. I made an effort to try and demonstrate all the 'features' that are easy to do and teach. The Nodoka sprite obviously has some obvious ugly white around it. I'm not great at gimp. At the very least, whether or not I'm hands off on this or if I'm taking hold, I'll probably need help with stuff like cleaning up art.
5. Renpy is really easy. Incredibly easy. Something like this is really really easy to get people to contribute to. Even if you don't want to mess with Renpy stuff, if you write stuff and post it in the thread, it'll be eminently easy to throw in.
Anyway, I am really pleased with it and think it looks and feels really nice for what it is, and I thought the concept was good enough to merit this level of effort and also I'm procrastinating part V of tower of tattle and that's what I do when I procrastinate writing I write other stuff that's not the thing I'm supposed to write.
