CPU is possible but painfully slow. Not that an RX 570 would be much faster. It depends. The difference would be measures in several seconds per iteration. 20 minutes for an 512x512 image? and hour for a upscaled ones?
The ones that has reported running on AMD and posting competetive numbers have RX 6900 series cards and those still gets outclassed by RTX 2080 or 3060s.
NAI website is worth it but limits your choise of chuubas to prompt. Some work better than others. Colab with an hll model would give you best results for similar money I think.
