My expectations for her are so great after seeing some of her other challenge/self-gimped runs that I'd forgetten how niche DMC and similar high-speed character action mechanics are, and how she has basically no prior experience with a combo system or free cancels out of most actions. Let alone how even DMC3's stage 2 used to be considered a filter.
>>62678866Was great seeing her mashing the basic combo1 attack string on Vergil's first few openings that she found, then actively correcting herself into trying to mix up her combo for style points as you said, even when at low HP and under pressure. Good shit like her actually trying to pay attention to style rank on Cerb too.
Do wish the games had more adjudicators, there's not much else to practice combo mixup muscle memory, and DMC3 has a super unfortunate mid-to-late game bit where all you fight are noclip angels and chess pieces and bosses that completely destroy all the combo intuition from early on. Proud of her for not only retaining some of it but whipping it out on the last boss.
