>>26366073That's precisely the issue with MD you can't run non-meta decks in the high ranks because there's too many free negates. I spent a ton of mats crafting a bunch of fun decks but if your deck can't play through at least 1 negate in your first turn and still end on a board that doesn't die to Lightning Storm then you'll have a bad time. Also every fucking deck's core cards are just Halqifibrax or DPE which makes rogue decks seem very fucking stale when they all end on a board of the same broken extra deck monsters that aren't even part of their archetype.
If Master Duel had a unranked or casual mode for fun decks I'd have way more fun with the game, but currently if you like winning you're basically forced into Eldlich or TriZoo or Swordsoul. At best you can cobble together a anti-meta going 2nd deck to fuck with those decks like Luna Kaiju or Numerons but you won't have fun doing it.
I am having a lot of fun with the current Limit 1 Festival playing a mixed Traptrix/Predaplant deck though. They should run these formats as a permanent thing.
Shadowverse has a few separate formats so I have more fun just alternating between them when I get bored of one. Also the fact usually every class is viable means you have at least 9 options for decks to build, sometimes 10-12 if some classes have multiple options like Puppet/Artifact Portal or Heal/Ward Haven.
