>>4908024The biggest problem with Twitch by far is you can only pull in people who watch streams on that platform. You can't pull in normalfags who were on YT to listen to music, watch cat videos, or anime season roundups. There's no autoplay to dump them on your stream to watch, no recommendations leading off from reaction clips with 'Viewers of This Holo's Channel watched this'.
And the thing with pulling in people who're already on Twitch to watch streams is that they aren't going to be just chilling on the front page. If they navigated there, chances are they already have an idea of who they want to watch based on a known schedule. And if I'm already watching another streamer I specifically visited to watch, why would I tune out to watch a holo that just started stream?
Now, you might say, "Ah but the streamer they navigated to twitch to watch might be a holo!"
Fortunately we have a case study for that. See what happened when Kiara got her channel shadowbanned. Her schedule was up and everything, and her viewer numbers were far worse than normal. If you have a shifting schedule as a streamer, there is no way you will get a consistent audience on twitch, because normalfags don't tune in if they don't happen to already have the site open.
So Twitch still has one advantage, though. You can pull in people by game categories! If you're one of the most popular streamers in a game category, as holos are likely to be, then you get more viewers! Except that you're likely to get people less tolerant of the streamer's inability to play that particular game since they specifically sought it out to watch.
But wait, this doesn't apply to new games. If you're one of the first streamers to stream a hot new game, no one cares if you suck, they want to watch you explore the new game! Even better if you have high viewers normally - oh, except Holos can't do that, they need to get permissions. Which means by the time they're playing it everyone and their mother on the platform has already seen it and is more inclined to watch something else.
