The tragic part is that Vei is never gonna see any consequences. She might even benefit from it. Get a viral tweet off insulting people for "getting upset over nothing" or what have you, encouraging her to stay the same, and even get worse. Same for other idiots like Pippa. People will try to do the right thing and make their communities better in whatever small way they can, and it'll get them nothing but controversy and insults, while the already popular and well-off continue to rake it in from complete safety. If only there were some kind of system in which the rich weren't free from consequences by virtue of it being impossible to really threaten them with anything.
