I'd advise you to stick out with the bullshit, and go for whatever requirements they demand. Worse case scenario, you walk away knowing it was them and not you. Best case scenario, you fulfill the dream.
But you don't want to put in all that effort only to be roadblocked by something you're unfamiliar with.
As for me, what I had in mind didn't play out. They rejected me on all fronts, some of them not even bothering to reply. Still, I'm glad I know I can definitively say I tried my best.
I can handle hating thise who rejected me becayse they didn't recognize my latent talent and thorough effort. I can't handle hating myself for not putting in the effort at the final step.
