My fellow chumbuds, this blessed Nativity season, let us take a moment to reflect, that we might not forget the true meaning of this most holy Christmas season. The true meaning of our commemoration goes far beyond the materialistic, consumerist idolatry masquerading as a so-called "civic holiday", foisted upon us by a heartless modern world of rock, steam, fire, plastic and steel; it's beyond just "peace and goodwill amongst men" as we are, here on Earth; indeed, it goes far, far beyond the simple, surface-level refrain of "togetherness" with friends and family gathered at the dinner table, in the here and now, in this life, in this one place and this one time. The true meaning is far, far deeper... and far more beautiful.
The lepers are cleansed.
The lame walk.
The blind see.
The dead have risen from their tombs, and live again.
We shall be healed of every infirmity, and refashioned anew.
That which is broken shall be set right.
That which was lost shall be restored.
All the empty seats at our tables shall once more be filled.
He shall wipe away every tear.
We who are athirst shall be given to drink of the waters of everlasting life, freely.
The eternal Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.
We're going home... together. To take up our appointed place in our Father's abode, in the homeland of our hearts.
Christ is risen. Christ is King. And we shall never forget what He has given... for all of us.
Merry Christmas, chumbies.
